Medical Grants
The Pirojsha Godrej Foundation has been extending medical grants to
individuals, hospitals, childcare centres, and other healthcare facilities.
The trust also supports healthcare for animals.
Some of the key areas of medical concerns that the Pirojsha Godrej Foundation
has focused on, by contributing towards research and treatment, are:
- Cancer: The Foundation supports cancer treatments for the economically
marginalized, and also provides shelter and complete care facilities for
families who seek cancer treatment in cities.
- Leprosy : The Foundation supports medical research for leprosy with a
focus on the study of nerve damage due to leprosy
- Dyslexia: The Foundation supports capacity building of teachers and
setting up of training camps for teachers and parents to enable a safe
environment for children with dyslexia
- Impaired vision: The Foundation supports healthcare institutes that
manage care of patients who have visual impairment.
Some of the key beneficiaries of the Pirojsha Godrej are Foundation for
Medical Research, CII Foundation- Kerala floods, Chief Ministers Relief
Fund, India Cancer Society, NK Dabhar Cancer Foundation, Indian Red Cross
Society Blood Center, Latur Earthquake Relief Fund, the Andhra Cyclone
Relief Fund, St. Jude’s Childcare Centers, and Lepers Welfare Association
and Bombay Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The Foundation has also always been in the forefront of providing medical
relief in times of floods and other such natural calamities. With this as an
area of focus, the Red Cross Disaster Center at Vikhroli and the Pirojsha
Godrej Memorial Wing at Breach Candy Hospital were born from this
foundation.
